Ray Crooke

Ray Crooke is an Australian master painter of Australia’s far northerly regions and offshore Pacific environs.

He is known for serene views of Islander people and ocean landscapes, many of which are based on the art of Gauguin.

In 1969 he won the Archibald Prize for his portrait of George Johnson. His paintings are in major collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, state galleries and the Vatican Collection Rome.
